Class war: Hundreds sign petition against Camden bin collection changes

Camden council has caused outrage by reducing bin collections in the north of the borough to just once a fortnight, whilst maintaining weekly collections in the south.

The measure, which is expected to save the council £821,000 a year, has been criticized by Councillor Don Williams - conservative representative for Swiss Cottage - as a penny pinching exercise that will put result in a public health emergency.

To date, over 580 residents have signed the petition calling on Camden to review the changes.
