5 Things You Never Knew About the Borough of Camden

Formed in 1965 when the three boroughs of Hampstead, Holborn and Highgate were merged, the London Borough of Camden is full of surprises… from the origins and debate about its name (Camden was almost named Fleethurst after the underground river Fleet that runs almost all the way through the borough - as in ‘Fleet Street’) to the surprisingly high US migrant population, and the imagery on the council emblem – a circle of hands to represent voting, giving, receiving and unity.
